Haunted Roads


"Some places just seem to be that way. You know, mystical hot-spots… The Devils Triangle; Sedona, Arizona; New Orleans; Stonehenge; places where strange things just seem to happen. I never used to think much about any of that, I thought it all was all bunk, the work of fiction or an over active imagination (Maybe too much pizza before bedtime.). I never believed any of it before I moved to Seattle. Never thought any of it could be true until I bought a renovated condo in the Old Town Towers. But not even the things I saw there could prepare me for what happened underground. Now, I know things like ghosts and werewolves and such can’t exist. But what about that housekeeping woman that walks through walls, and one time walked right through me? Or that creepy pale guy in D5 who always smells like blood (or the woman beside him that always smells like garlic)? Strange howling sounds, terrified screams, disappearing pets..."

No Such Place





                    “ . . . All that was left in Pandora's box was hope.”

During the 21st century, a global pandemic consumed the world. Due to its devastating nature, they dubbed it the “Pandora Virus.” No one had time to truly study it or to counter the rapid spreading of PV. The virus tore through the world’s population, killing almost one-third of humanity in its first month alone. Countries everywhere grew panicked, believing it to be a work of biological terrorism. Nation stood against nation, and most of the earth was laid to waste within just a handful of months by the combined effects of nuclear war and the Pandora Virus. Survivors immune to the virus found the world uninhabitable, and many of them perished due to radiation poisoning or famine.

There were others, though. Others who inhabited this planet along with human beings, but they had been in hiding for many centuries. Praeternaturals, they were — legendary beings and creatures believed to be nothing more than myth. All of them were also biologically immune to the Pandora Virus. With the foresight of the oracle named Euryale, praeternaturals learned of what was to come shortly before it began and prepared for the preordained onslaught. They built safe havens in hidden areas across the world that were protected heavily by magic. Taking in humans and praeternaturals alike before the war, these communities provided a stable living environment for the survival of all species.

One such safe haven is an ancient land once inhabited by elves. It has been renovated into a sanctuary and renamed to Elysium. Located in the modern-day Republic of Macedonia near Lake Ohrid, it was once a part of Greece. Now, it is a part of the process to one day rebuild the world.

Mysteria RPG: An Original Supernatual RP





What if the town you lived in was filled with the supernatural? What if your next door neighbor was a vampire? How about a werewolf as your 4th period English Teacher? And that girl at the super market? Yeah, she can read your mind.

Welcome to Mysteria where the strange is normal. In a town that was founded by supernaturals, it's generally accepted by the humans that live there that their neighbors are...a bit eccentric. Everyone has a secret here and what happens in Mysteria, stays in Mysteria.



Mysteria is an original rp set in the supernatural/paranormal genre. We are a game with original characters in an original setting. We are not a multifandom but if you like shows like Supernatural, Hex, Reaper, Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Ghost Whisper, The Dresden Files, and Moonlight or movies like Underworld, The Covenant, Skinwalkers, Blood and Chocolate, Van Helsing, Constantine, Blade, and other horror movies, or books by authors such as Jim Butcher, Laurell K Hamilton, Kelley Armstrong, Kim Harrison, and other paranormal writers, then Mysteria is for you as the key elements and themes can be found within our rp. We are character development focused with character and group plots encouraged. Major plot lines that will affect the game as a whole are given by the mods and all characters are welcome to get involved.

We are looking for players that are looking to have fun while developing their characters and plots with others. Supernatural and human characters alike are needed. Characters of all ages are welcome, but players must be of 18 years of age due to violence and mature content that may occur.

La Vie en Guerre, a German Occupied France RPG

La Vie en Guerre is a lightly supernatural historical RPG set in German Occupied Paris, France. It starts in the late winter of 1940. A puppet government is in control of all of Northern France and administrating most of the southern 'free zone'. Rations are low. Luxuries are unheard of other than cheap booze, free music, or show girls. Many families have been left wondering if their husbands and sons will come home, if they are prisoners of war, or if they are dead. A curfew is strictly enforced.

There seems little reprieve in sight and people are losing hope. Most of the city seems to have just accepted what happened and is doing its best to move on with what is left of their lives. However, there are a few who are starting to talk about fighting back. Whispers of building a resistance have begun to work their way through the shadows and a few rare, heroic people are stepping up to the cause. Whether their efforts will make things worse or better has yet to be seen, but at least it gives some Parisians hope.

Will you be among the Parisians fighting for a better life? Or are you just trying to survive on your own? Have you heard the rumors of the monsters who fought on the side of the Germans and do you fear them all the more for it? Are you a monster yourself? Halcyon Halls

What if they were real?
The myths and legends.
The things that go bump in the night.
What if they were just like you?
Since the dawn of time they've been blamed for all of life's oddities. A strange noise? It must be a ghost. Pets mangled and eaten? Maybe a werewolf got them. That pale man that never ventures out in the day? A vampire, surely. Children behaving badly must be changelings, and that table had to have been forced into your path by a mischievous sprite, now giggling at your misfortune.

The list goes on. For each being, there are hundreds of tales, most pure delusion of course, though much of it based in fact.

From Nessie and Sasquatch to the Bermuda Triangle and the Land of Mu, our world is filled with the unattainable, the unexplainable... that which we call Myth, or Legend.

Yet, like the Will O' the Wisp, or the ghost breath that sends a shiver down your spine, the truth tugs softly at our conscience. Whispers in the dark of a boogeyman in the shadows, or a fairy spinning gossamer tales in the corners of your mind. They are real. And in so many ways... they are just like you. They work. They feed. They even have children. And just like humans, those children go to school.

School however, isn’t always as just classes and homework. Strange old castles often have far more lurking about them than is so readily apparent. Ancient curses have been set loose on the school. Memory loss. Sickness. Power switching... Was it an accident? Or are more sinister plans afoot? Unanswered questions abound as the students and staff first try and understand exactly what has happened to them...

People are drawn to Clary-Sage, it's as if the town itself brings them in, chooses them from every country and walk of life imagineable to take up residence here and contribute to it's lifeblood.

But suddenly the townspeople, the peaceful and loving neighbours you know have started acting very strangely. But not always... Just sometimes. And what's more, they've been saying that YOU are acting just as strangely...

And you believe them. After all, haven't you been waking up every now and then with blood on your hands?

Playing House

January 1st, 2006.
Experiments at The Compound begin.

Last year, twenty-four volunteers were selected to take part in a social experiment. They would give up one year of their life, to science. Upon completing the experiment, they would be rewarded handsomely.

For one year, they would disappear from their lives. They would tell family, work, and friends only that they were going on a Pilgrimage, and they would be gone for one year. On December 31st, they would leave their lives, and be taken to a secret place referred to only as The Compound. A large block of property and mansion, completely blocked off and barricaded away from the outside world.

No phones, or cellphones. No television, no radio. No newspapers. No letters. And no leaving, for one year. Just twenty very different individuals, all selected for very different reasons, living together, no matter what. Could you do it? It seemed very simple, at the time. Everything they needed would be provided... all they had to do was give up a year, and get used to hidden cameras over their shoulders. It would be worth it.

What they weren't told, was that it would be a simple social observation. It would be a study, not only of how strangers would adapt to their surroundings and live together, but of how different people would react to extreme and high-stress situations.

Everything starts off fine and dandy. The days go by, and just as everyone is starting to get comfortable, that's when weird things begin to happen. Subtle changes, at first. For several days, the temperature in the house cannot be controlled, leaving parts of the house at sky-high temperatures. Then nothing. Then it seems like in the middle of the night, walls and hallways are changing, revealing rooms that no one seems to remember.

No power or electricity for a week. Having your inner-most secrets exposed the next. Waking up one morning to find one of your housemates - maybe one of your new friends - has been removed, and replaced. Minds starting failing. People start snapping. People start dying. And then you discover that perhaps the lot of you aren't so random at all. It seems, that each and every one of you is somehow connected...

Its been One Annual since the defeat of the evil witch and DG, Glitch, Cain & Raw helped to save the O.Z. Queen Ozmmea has taken her rightful place on the throne and has restored her most loyal advisor with the other half of his brain, gaining back her Ambrose. The once powerful and evil sorceress Azkadellia has been restored to her rightful place as princess, but she has not survived the ordeal without a few screws lose. DG has also taken her place as princess, and is being groomed for the throne, as soon as her mother can get her wild roaming mind to stop trying to find a new adventure around every corner. Cain and Jed have taken up protection detail of the castle, making sure the Royal Family’s new rule will be undisturbed by any lingering undesirables that may be out there trying to harm them. Raw was sent to be with his people and take care of the little one and Toto, well the Tutor is still trying to teach DG magic.

But not all is okay in the O.Z. and when one ‘witch’ falls...there is always another to take its place. This time in the form of the Xela the Heartless who is quietly forming a small
resistance of her own…

Durmstrang Uber Alles. A different kind of Harry Potter RPG.








PREMISE
The Durmstrang Institute was created for the magical instruction of Eastern European wizards. Once upon a time, it accepted all promising students who had magical aptitude, but now, any time that Muggleborns and halfbloods were ever accepted is a distant memory, in favor of rigid social classes and tradition. Students are ingrained with a sense of superiority or inferiority [one that often starts at home], a respect for tradition and appropriate social behavior, and most importantly a strong desire to succeed and to be the best. Students that graduate from Durmstrang are the most talented, the strongest, the brightest, and the best. The only question is... are you strong enough to survive until graduation?

Horography

The year is 2008.

Or is it? What if you went to sleep in the present and woke up the next day, almost fifty years earlier? Or twenty? Maybe even a hundred? Not to mention in a completely different location from where they last remember. What if you were at a night club in New York City one minute, and suddenly in the middle of the Battle of Gettysburg the next? Or clinging to life in the middle of the Atlantic on a sinking ship? For most people, it would be a very peculiar dream, but for this group of strangers, this impossible circumstance is a harsh new reality.

On the outside, the individuals who have woken up in a different time and place have seemingly little in common -- from teenagers still struggling with passing their finals to grown men in the midst of a mid-life crisis, the primary thing they share is the fact that they all come from what we consider present day. In truth, their unique situation stems simply from luck of the evolutionary draw -- they have inherited a specific gene that has given them the ability to move through the time-space continuum. They're special. Different. Powerful, if one looks at it that way. Of course, none of them are aware of this fact, nor do many care at this point. After all, they've got a bigger problem on their hands -- aside from simply trying to get by and survive, getting home is on the top of the list.

But as is the case in any good story, it's not going to be easy. Getting from point A to point B isn't likely to happen on the first try. And even once they've realized that they might be able to control what's happening to them, or what's happening to the rest of the world, they might find that they have a whole new set of problems on their hands.

Premise

No warning. No previous signs. No explanation. But everyone's story has a middle bit that sounds the same. It involves the mentioning of a "blinding white light" and then the "feeling of the worst hangover imagineable."

This is how they came to Penny Lane.

Penny Lane is a main street in a place that doesn't exist; least not any map. It's a picture perfect sight from the sixties mod culture and yet modern day novelties can be found. The sun always sets a different color. the clouds tinted shades as well - and at night the stars sparkle to a inaudible universal symphony. Penny Lane eventually turns into a (dirt) long and winding road, that runs thru strawberry fields and ends at the Sea of Time. On the edge of the strawberry fields, nestled at the brim of the woods, are caves that burrow underground. At the other end of the Lane there's a different street visible, even people going about their lives, but they never seem to take notice of those in Penny Lane.

No matter which way you try to go; there's no escaping Penny Lane no matter what. Machines that travel through time and space don't work, and those who can open portals between worlds at the wave of a hand find their power lacking. You can run and run and run - but you'll end up back where you started. You can try navigating the green waters of the Sea of Time - but you'll be dead before you lose sight of land. Braving the woods passed the strawberry fields only brings talk from the lonely locals of murderous creatures called Blue Meanies.

Some people go mad. Some try to find a way out. Some cope with the better life they've been given.

But they're all together now.

And this is their story.

The world has ended and life today is far different from how it once was. Earth isn't in threat of overpopulation anymore, if anything there's almost the risk of the opposite. Mankind live bundled together in large cities called Metropolises. They're found scattered across the globe, some based around cities that was once important, some built in the high of the mountains and others just right smack in the middle of nowhere; this is how we have survived.

In the early years of the 21st century the tensions between what was then called America and both North Korea and the Middle Eastern countries came to an all time high. Accusations of weapons of mass destruction were thrown around and people were stressed, scared and starting to seek shelters from the impending nuclear war. But it wasn't a nuclear warhead hitting another country that set the world in motion - that made a worldwide chaos break out - it was an asteroid, not quiet large enough to destroy the Earth but large enough to throw the complete world order out of balance.

Polymea collided with the Earth in the Atlantic Ocean, threw up immense volumes of water and dust into the atmosphere and caused ripples in the Earth's crust that made their way long into the Euro-Asian continent. It devastated the world's economy as the countries races to rebuild and save their people, but it was all for nothing. The asteroids effects had only just begun. Polymea had opened the box of Pandora and released a plague on the people of Earth of unmatched proportions.

Today we stand in a world torn apart by war, hatred and fear. Hope is inexistent and all we can do is to try live on and rebuild the world that we have lost.

Arillius :: The War is upon us.

The world of supernaturals, of races other than human is still a secret in the mortal realm but how long will that last now they have gone to war? How long will the 'peace' of the humans last when the demons clash so violently with the vampires that the earth itself shudders in horror? Arillius is the first of the mortal realm to feel the effects of the war - the first city to feel the affects of the war. The humans are beginning to take notice of the rise in crime, the tense feeling which has wrapped the island up in a blanket.

The Demos currently rule over the Beyond - a vampire family known for there ruthless nature and violent ways. They have little mercy for those who have wronged them and if you are not open in your support you will get little more than cold civility from them. Against the Demos stands the Merhites and the Elwyn. The Merhites stand against the Demos as rightful rulers of the Beyond, the throne having been snatched from their grasp some three hundred years ago. Then there are the Elwyn once a peaceful family the elven family have decided it is time to rise and take control.
